Processing
India is the world's largest producer of chickpeas, contributing over 70% of global output. Laxmi Agro Processors taps into this supply from Maharashtra's Khandesh and Marathwada regions — among India's most reputed chickpea growing zones — to deliver consistent, export-grade lots year-round.
We handle two primary chickpea varieties for export:
Large, round, cream-coloured chickpeas with a thin seed coat and mild flavour. Kabuli chickpeas are the standard choice for hummus production, canned chickpeas, European retail bags and food processing across North Africa, the Middle East and the Americas.
Smaller, angular, dark-skinned chickpeas with a nuttier flavour and higher fibre content. Desi chickpeas are the dominant variety for South Asian and Middle Eastern markets — used for chana dal, besan flour, roasted snacks and curries.
Our grain processing plant is located at MIDC, Chopda, Dist. Jalgaon — a strategic location in Maharashtra's chickpea heartland. Processing in-house means we control every step from procurement to container stuffing, with no middlemen and no compromises on quality.
The facility runs multi-stage cleaning (pre-cleaner → destoner → aspirator), rotary sizing screens for count-grade separation, and Sortex optical color sorters for final purity. Processed lots are bagged and weighed under supervision before dispatch.
