Indian Wheat for Export and Domestic Supply

India is consistently among the top five wheat producers in the world, with annual output exceeding 100 million metric tonnes. The primary wheat-growing belts — Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan — produce a variety of hard and soft wheat cultivars suited to different end-use applications.

At Laxmi Agro Processors, we procure wheat from Khandesh mandis and farmers in Madhya Pradesh border districts, running it through our multi-stage processing line at MIDC Chopda before dispatch. Raw farm-level wheat typically contains 2–4% foreign matter (weed seeds, soil clods, stones, chaff) and moisture levels of 13–16%. Our processing brings this to a consistent 99%+ purity at 10–12% moisture — ready for direct milling or container export.

Indian wheat is the most widely consumed cereal globally. Demand from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, the Philippines, the Middle East and Africa ensures strong year-round export volumes, with price competitiveness varying by season and origin market dynamics.

End Uses of Indian Wheat

Atta (Whole Wheat Flour)

The primary end use across South Asia. Roller-milled atta is the staple for chapati and roti across India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Maida (Refined Flour)

Used in bread, biscuits, pastry and noodles across South and Southeast Asia.

Semolina (Suji / Rava)

Coarser milling product used in pasta, upma, halwa and semolina bread.

Animal Feed

Wheat screenings and low-grade wheat are used in poultry and dairy cattle feed formulations.

Starch & Gluten

Wet-milling of wheat produces wheat starch (for adhesives, food thickeners) and vital wheat gluten (for bread improvers and meat substitutes).

Export (Raw Grain)

Bulk container export of cleaned wheat to Bangladesh, Indonesia, Philippines, Middle East and Africa.
